The best time to visit Saint Tropez is June or September. The month decides more than the weather: it decides which boats sail from Nice and Cannes, when the museums open and whether a regatta has taken the gulf. It also decides which Saint Tropez tickets you can buy for your dates.
Most of what you can book here happens on the water, and a boat needs a calm sea. The charters cancel for weather and offer you a new date or a refund. The scheduled boats from Nice and Cannes run only from May to October.
On land the town is open all year, but the hours move. The citadel closes an hour earlier from October, and the art museum shuts for two long spells in winter. The market runs twice a week whatever the month.

The year brings about 786 mm of rain on about 61 days. Highs pass 29 °C only in July and August.
Two events change the town. The Bravades run from 16 to 18 May every year, with the Grande Bravade on the 17th, when the citadel and the Musée de l'Annonciade close.
Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez brings the classic and modern yachts to the gulf from late September to early October. In 2026 it runs from 26 September to 4 October, and a fleet of about 253 yachts is expected. You can watch free from the shore. The regatta catamaran follows the racing from Marines de Cogolin that week only.
The Cannes boat sails from 12 May to 20 October in 2026, then three end-of-season sailings from 23 to 25 October. The days change by month:
It leaves Cannes at 10:15, lands at 11:30 and starts back at 16:30. The Nice boat leaves Quai Lunel at 09:00 and runs from May to October; check the sailing day before you plan around it.
